Growing up in Southern California, Gary Usher Jr. was immersed in the sun-splashed Sonic ’70s. Gary quickly amassed the sound of his surroundings and channeled them into a unique style. Schooled by his father (a true songwriting and production legend), Gary was hanging around with some of the most influential musicians of the last four decades since he was old enough to hold a guitar.
Usher Jr. has appeared on the Big Screen in Paramount Pictures (Back To The Beach), played as a session guitar player with artists such as Brian Wilson, Dick Dale, Frankie Avalon, Bill Champlin (Chicago, Sons of Champlin), Scottie Page (Supertramp, Pink Floyd), Gino Vanelli, Gary Richrath (R.E.O. Speedwagon), Bobby Kimball (Toto) Mike Inez (Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Alice in Chains) and the great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Growing up in recording studios, Gary has teamed up with notable producers such as Dan Huff (Keith Urban, Megadeth), Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice in Chains), and his father, Gary Usher.
From his command post at House of Usher Studios, Gary has assembled his own “Wrecking Crew” of talented musicians, vintage production equipment, and the ability to write, record, and perform his songs. From this, his music emerges.
