It’s 1985, and I work at Licorice Pizza in the Sherman Oaks Galleria Mall. The mecca of all shopping malls in the universe. It’s in every 80’s movie, acid wash jeans, United colors of Benetton, the Gap, and Guess? Yes, it was as Rad as you were told it was. I went to every show in L.A., on every guest list and I was in a band! Powerline is about how I was able to work all day and party all night in the Neon Decade. “My battery life’s gettin’ low, can’t ya see? You lightning in the bottle for me..so hook me into your Powerline!” When I needed the crowd in “We Love L.A.!” It’s my daughter and her friends who I would beg to help me in the studio for some badly needed group vocals. Powerline is Bitchin!
